Andy & Bertie
Andy and Bertie’s wedding weekend was packed with incredible weather, immaculate vibes, and plenty of surprises that made it truly unforgettable.
I first met the couple after coordinating Jess and Harry’s wedding, where Andy was best man. It’s always such a joy to be recommended after being seen in action. Following a detailed planning meeting four weeks before the big day, I arrived on site the day before to set up the marquee and run through all my marquee requirements.
Bertie was keen to spread the celebrations across two days, allowing everything to feel relaxed and unhurried and I honestly think more weddings should follow this structure!
Friday
The weekend began with both Andy and Bertie getting ready at home with their bridesmaids and groomsmen before heading to a beautiful church in Newport. Their daughter Roseanna stole the show as she led her mum and bridesmaids down the aisle, while Bertie looked stunning in a slim fitting mermaid gown paired with a pearl necklace. The bridesmaids’ dusky pink dresses perfectly complemented the groomsmen’s beige waistcoats and the florals in soft mocha and blush tones.
After colourful confetti toss and photos outside the church, guests made their way to the family farm where the marquee awaited. I was there to welcome suppliers and ensure everything ran seamlessly, from the florist to the band, bar, and caterers.
Guests were greeted with a beer or glass of Pimm’s and enjoyed admiring thoughtful personal touches, including a family tree display, personalised milk urns, and hand-painted signage. Monstaball set the tone with chilled live music as canapés were served under the glorious sunshine.
Inside, the marquee was simple but beautifully styled. Tables were named after fields on the property and each guest had farm related name cards and placemats. The newlyweds made their entrance to LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem, instantly setting the party mood. Laughter and tears filled the speeches, before Bertie’s sisters brought the house down with a rap to Ice Ice Baby, a hilarious and heartfelt highlight of the day.
Dinner then came with a twist. At each table, one guest donned a chef’s hat and apron to carve a joint of ham, creating a fun, interactive dining experience. After dessert, guests were surprised by an ABBA tribute act, who had everyone singing and dancing along. They were amazing and the perfect surprise act. The bridal party stepped outside to get some group pictures and created some of my favourite photos ever! The evening wound down before the sun set, leaving everyone refreshed and ready for day two.
Saturday
Saturday had a slower pace, giving the couple time to enjoy the morning with family before preparing for the evening celebrations. The groomsmen looked sharp in velvet suits, while Bertie returned to her classic gown for a second outing.
Guests were welcomed with prosecco and Monstaball’s guitar and saxophone set before tucking into a hog roast. The marquee came alive once more as Andy and Bertie cut their cake, followed by a first dance that erupted into confetti cannons and a packed dance floor.
The night was filled with energy and surprises: a choreographed performance from Bertie and her bridesmaids for Andy, indulgent dessert and cheese tables, and a full guest photo dash that created some of my favourite moments of the weekend.
As the party carried on late into the night, it was clear that splitting the celebrations over two days had been the perfect choice. It gave Andy and Bertie the chance to savour every moment without the rush of tradition. Their pictures highlight the energy and joy that their wedding brought to their family and friends.
