A Very English Garden
“A Very English Garden” was my very first styled shoot, and I wanted it to be something truly special. My goal was to create an opportunity for new and emerging wedding businesses to collaborate with some industry experts as well as to showcase their work because in the early days, finding creative opportunities or securing bookings can be such a challenge. I collaborated with my best friend, Holly of Weddings By Holly Rose, to bring the vision to life.
Our inspiration began with the flowers. We wanted to highlight the quintessentially English feel of The Cheshire Venue, so we chose a bright, joyful colour palette and filled it with seasonal English blooms. Lori from Wildways Floral Designs created a breathtaking broken arch, which we were able to move around the venue for different setups, along with elegant urns, meadow boxes and centrepieces that perfectly complemented the space.
The Cheshire Venue was the perfect setting. Brand new to the wedding scene, it offered endless charm and a passionate owner, Judy, whose love for her venue radiated through the day. We were determined to capture as much content for her as possible.
We styled three bridal looks with gowns from Katrina’s The Dress Bridal Boutique in Oswestry, each paired with bespoke hair by Alison of Pretty Please Bridal and flawless makeup from Felicia Simone Makeup. To accessorise, we featured exquisite rings from Jemma Bowers and three handcrafted veils by Ashley of Adorn Bridal.
The tablescape, styled by Amy from Sweet Pea and Ivy, combined vintage china, gold charger plates and gold-rimmed glassware, bringing our elegant garden party vision to life. Maya from Inked Paper Company designed stationery in soft blues to echo the floral palette, while personalised honey pots and engraved spoons from Rarity Emporium added a thoughtful, keepsake touch for each supplier. Wild Garlic Event Catering spoiled us with delicious canapés to keep the creative energy flowing and Zereleda of ZM Cakes created the most incredible showstopping cake.
To capture the magic, Lottie from Sunkissed Souls and Jess from Photography By JMT overcame a huge task by not only capturing the bridal looks and venue, but also branding shots for every supplier. Videography by Finn Hoggart Visuals added a warm, colourful energy, perfectly capturing every feature of the day, whilst Wedding Content by Megan Penney was on hand to capture the finer details. Our real-life couple, Toby and Darcey, brought authenticity and charm to every frame.
This shoot will forever hold a special place in my heart. The creativity, collaboration and joy from the day were unmatched, and I am so proud of what we created together.
